The late Geoffrey Fletcher was a senior lecturer for many years at the Eastman Dental Hospital with responsibility for training Post-Graduate orthodontic students. He has generously sponsored this prize in perpetuity.

Aims of the proposed Elective

Entry details

A brief curriculum vitae
The title and aims of the proposed elective and the anticipated dates
A 1000 word abstract of the proposed study during the elective
The name of the Institution(s) at which the applicant proposes to work A letter of approval from the Head of Department of the Institution where the proposed elective is to take place
A letter of support from the trainee’s Training Program Director

Award Criteria

Application demonstrates:

  1. A clear plan / study protocol for the elective period
  2. Benefit to the applicant’s professional development
  3. Feasibility of the proposed elective

The winner will be expected to produce a report for publication in BOS News and other publications at the discretion of the Scholarship and Awards Committee.

Timescale

The Elective must normally be undertaken within 1 year of the award being made; otherwise the prize money may be forfeited.
Entries to be submitted by January 31st each year on the appropriate Application Form.

3 judges, usually members of Scholarship and Awards committee, selected by Chair of Scholarship and Awards Committee to prevent conflict of interest.
