JOO Impact Factor 1.3

I am delighted to share that the Journal of Orthodontics has obtained its first impact factor. The Journal has been included in this year’s Emerging Sources Citation Index and has an impact factor of 1.3.

This is a momentous time in the Journal‘s history. It has long been an ambition for the Journal to obtain an impact factor, and this success represents a committed team effort to qualify for this metric and position the Journal as an attractive option for orthodontic researchers. Successive Editors have been working on this ever since I’ve been involved with the Journal – it’s thanks to all the editors over the years who have worked hard to improve its quality and rigour. In particular, I am delighted that, for potential authors, a lack of an impact factor will no longer be a barrier to submission.
