Professional Development
The Professional Development Directorate will have overall responsibility for:
- The work of the Conference and Meetings Committee which is responsible for organising the British Orthodontic Conference, and any other meeting held by the Society.
- The Chair is also responsible for the optimal coordination of all special interest meetings such as those currently proposed by or run by the Groups of the Society.
- The Chair will be the chair of the Conference and Meetings Committee.

Simon Watkinson
Simon undertook his orthodontic training at Liverpool, Chester, Manchester and Wythenshawe hospitals, qualifying as a Consultant in 2015. He currently works at East Lancashire and Manchester NHS trusts as a Consultant and in private practice in Greater Manchester. He is the Orthodontic MCN chair for Lancashire and South Cumbria ICS. He has had previous roles within the BOS on the TGG, COG, governance committee and previous BOC organising committees. He is on the boards for the RCS Ed orthodonitc board and the developing F.Orth examination.
