My day-job is in the hospital service as a Consultant Orthodontist and I am based at St Luke’s Hospital in Bradford. My first Consultant post was in Middlesbrough where I started in 1992 and then I moved to Bradford in 1995. Most of my caseload is the management of patients with a cleft lip and/or palate and those with dento-facial disproportion.
I have served previously as Chairman of the Scholarship Committee of the BOS and also Member of the BOS Council from October 2001 to September 2004. Since then I have had a variety of College positions, including Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the RCS England, which I hope have prepared me for my current role as Director of Clinical Governance at the BOS
I am very ably supported by the chairman and committee members of the Audit Committee, the Ethics and Standards Committee and the Publications Committee plus those involved in the Clinical Effectiveness Bulletin, all of whom do a significant amount of work for the BOS behind the scenes in their own time.
